What I Love Most about Sacramento

"Sacramento is an open market right now that's ripe for the picking. It reminds me of a lot of other cities, like Seattle. Sacramento has the underpinnings of other big cities before they exploded. The culinary scene here is small and everybody knows each other and there's such collaboration.

That, and our access to fresh produce. The chef and the farmer are directly linked here. On the east cost, a chef writes a menu, then finds a product. In Sacramento and on the west coast, the chef finds the product, then writes the menu."
